Apologists apologise is an ongoing series of Digital collages. Academics and scholars indicate there has been a constant rise in “postcolonial melancholia”, the yearning for glories of the British Empire. A poll in 2014 stated that 59% of the respondents thought that the British empire was “something to be proud of” and only 19% were “ashamed” of its misdeeds. This series questions the political, social and historical reality that has been portrayed for long as glorifying the colonial criminals and Europe’s spiritual adventures in the other parts of the world. It alters this narrative and creates a rupture in the postcolonial scenario to alter the new social reality, the one that the apologists have hidden for too long.
